Thor Chanlin wrote: yours is a typical response of a EVE hardcore player, it is easy, see i make it and now i am good, of course, since you take the time and effort to do it, it is no longer a game, it has become a kind of job or hobby likely
how many of such you are there, are you even paying any real money to EVE? if not, then you are a parasite and not a fund contributing player then of course, you dont want to change EVE, you have taken all this trouble, why should it be easier for anyone else?
how about the causal players who would rather buy than mine for plex they do not the time or even the interest to be hardcore, to learn all the innards and just want to enjoy other aspect of EVE
once people start forming emotional attachment to their stuff in EVE, which is a good thing because it will make them enjoy more but also, shatter them when they get hit the first time even thought they have been repeated warned
it is like someone playing with dolls and being told that it will be taken away and when it happen, it was such a bad experience that they cry
how many recover from this and how many remain to become hardcore, that is the question the answer maybe found from the number of players over the years
i have been thru i think a third of EVE with a character with most attr at level 5 and above but it is increasingly looking like work instead of fun, even thought i buy plex instead of mining it
so i give away all my EVE stuff and just drop in once a year to see if it is better, better as in more causal friendly this time, something worst is happening, not only everything same same, but i am getting socket disconnect for the first time every hour or two fatal in a PVP situation, so bye bye EVE
Let me sum this up for you......... 1.) I pay subscriptions 2.) I am space rich 3.) I am able to plex everything if i wished but refuse to. 4.) I have only recently played EvE hardcore because i decided on a goal and an agenda.
- 4a.) I enjoy helping those that are my friends and part of my organization(group, not corp) because I can.
- 4b.) I am Retired in RL, I have more time to play, I can purchase things from and for Casual players.
5.) I have several years experience, I know how the game works.
- 5a.) Is it my fault if newbros dont want to learn or listen to advice?
- 5b.) Is it my fault that Casuals want to be selfish?
- 5c.) How many times does an experienced player have to say "Get into a player group/corp" for it to sink in what EvE is about?
6.) True Hardcore = a player that is willing to attempt to get into be a content creator for his/her membership, willing to be a corp CEO/ Full time FC/an Alliance Executor/Logistics Driver on call/Spymaster(head of the CIA/FBI) for group/Director of Communications..........basically Leadership, not a line member.....Line member = playing for fun. Hardcore/Leadership = playing on a different level and for others/making your own fun.
Now for my interpretation of things
- Highsec is not any more a PVE area than a deep nullsec blue region.
2.) Casuals and such need to start listening to the Veteran Heirarchy. 3.) In Highsec(largest problem area), to defend/fight against certain aspects YOU NEED TO GROUP UP!! Though it can be done, EvE is not a game for solo play, it does not have the content for it....which is why Groups/Corps/Alliances/Multiboxers will always win hands down. 4.) Only difference between Highsec and every where else......Concord and the mechanics governing it, get used to the idea instead of trying to destroy EvE with yours. 5.) Last but not least....Veteran Heirarchy exists, has been established for many years, has paved the way already....quit trying to beat your head against a wall, we already teach how to be on par with us in a few short months it is not our fault you think your WoW type of play will work here. (It wont btw, we would rather see you die in a fire to learn if you wont listen).
TLDR: Take your idea and scrap it, its garbage, and so is anybody/post supporting it. |
